Statement of Purpose

SCREAM is a five member rock band playing the hard rockin' hits of the '70s and '80s by such groups as Aerosmith, Def Leppard, Kiss, and Ozzy Osbourne (just to mention a few). The members of SCREAM include Robert on bass guitar and backing vocals, Ed on lead / rhythm guitar and backing vocals, Jeff on lead vocals, Skip on rhythm / lead guitar and backing vocals, and Kevin on drums. The members of SCREAM are all veterans of the central Pennsylvania rock and roll scene, having played in such bands as Bashful, Destiny, Thin Ice, Defiance, Swift Kick, Banditos and Gin & Juice. Individually, each member of SCREAM has at least ten years of stage experience. SCREAM is capably supported by an equally experienced road crew which includes Don as the live sound engineer, and Lee as the stage manager. So it is with Scream. Maybe their formula is pretty basic and organic after all; take 5 well-seasoned musicians, add an experienced and savy production crew, stir slowly, and watch as Scream rises to the top. "Organic", "Atmospheric", "Lo-Fi", "Primal"...All adjectives used to describe many of the current crop of bands. Oft-espoused philosophies include: "practice sucks, we like surprises" "playing on only one string is sooo liberating" "we search for the crappiest guitars and amps we can find because they sound so musical" "our secret ? we tune all the strings to B# and just keep movin'". Hey, not that there's anything wrong with that, but........THEN THERE'S SCREAM Scream Organic?-----While some temporary rearrangement of the internal viscera may be experienced at a Scream show, we don't think this is what the scribes intended. Scream Atmospheric?-Nah, too limiting. Stratospheric or Tropospheric would be more accurate. Scream Lo-Fi?--------We're not sure but we think that's a congratulatory gesture to a midget. Scream Primal?--------Hmm...that phrase almost has a ring to it. Well, maybe Jeff Hoover. Scream Polished, Professional, Energetic and Fun???? You Betcha!!!! Great bands and musicians ultimately endure because of competence and commitment, and so it is with SCREAM. Maybe the formula is pretty basic and organic after all: take five well-seasoned musicians, add an experienced and savy production crew, stir slowly and watch as SCREAM rises to the top.
